I show you how to mount the Mac HFS HDDs in the Windows 10 Anniversary and later updates by editing the registry.
THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH APFS!!! Only HFS will work
Yes you can now update to the Anniversary update and later! (With a little hacking of course)

Great video, very clear explanation. Sadly, this didn't work for me. I guess I have a APFS volume, not HFS. I get a message that I need to format the drive. Also there is no space between Harddisk and Volume in the path, just in case anyone gets hung up that like I did.
at: ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession Manager I find no "DOS Devices" (?)
after i installed windows 10 latest version when press option hold mac os don't show up any more only windows 10 does. I have early 2008 imac

Hi, I installed windows 10 on a separate HD on my Macpro 3.1, (It works very well but I want to browse hsf partions) No bootcamp driver installed. To do this I have to install bootcamp drivers first? Thank you.

Thanks so much. I can see the HDD in win explorer now but was wondering why I cannot write/modify the drive? I am trying to copy some windows items to the MAC HDD due to space issues. Any ideas?
It worked for me! Thank you so much! I upgraded my mid 2010 MBP 13'' to Windows 10 and realized that my Mac drive did not show in "This PC", I applied this fix and it worked!
tnks!
What kind of mess will I be dealing with if I already have Win10 running in Bootcamp 6.1, the only issue being that Mackintosh HD is not showing up in File Explorer? Will I lose my original Bootcamp partition if I delete 6.1 and install 6.0? Will I lose the Win10 I already have and all the stuff in it?

Didn't work for me, I created H: drive in regedit and just got another drive with a question mark on it. This is so frustrating.

It didn't work.Bootcamp wants to format my F: drive with os x Mojave on it. If i do that i'll lose everything and os x Mojave and Windows 10. So what to do?
I followed everything yet it says i need to format the disk. I have bootcamp 6.0 too
I have a problem where whenever i want to boot into mac i hold the option key on startup and i don't see Disk Utility Or MacintoshHD I only see Windows
Would this work on Windows computer With a Mac usb drive
I added Volume2 and Volume3 (I: and J:, just in case) to try to get my Macintosh HD and an HFS-formatted LaCie drive partition to show up, but I just got "You need to format the disk in drive I before you use it" and a second copy of my C drive. How do I find out which volume number to use??? https://i.imgur.com/25Ro77r.png https://i.imgur.com/oF7uAQa.png
EDIT: I red +Rick Terscale's response again, and tried counting down from the top like he said. Restarting now…
EDIT 2: Nope, no dice. https://i.imgur.com/7sT2z50.png
Both AppleHFS and AppleMNT are present, and the registry entries for them look like they should. heck
Thank you it work for me.
You sound like Chris from Family Guy
i lost my mac OS partition, after I created "data d" for my bootcamp
I call out BS when I see it. But this? Worked first try. I'd like to take the time to thank you for saving my shit, my Mac portion of the computer has been failing to boot, but I have now gained access to it through this, so thanks champ!
It is not necessary to guess the drive number. In disk management you have to count them from left to right in the window below.
Thanks! Good instructions!! Easy to follow. However, when I select my Mac OS drive Windows is telling me that it needs to be formatted. It says "The volume does not contain a recognized file system".
My MAC OS drive is volume2.
EFI is volume1
Recovery Partition is volume3
I can view the Recovery files when I set Reg to volume3, thus proving that the process works, it's just that Windows 10 is telling me to format volume2. Is there a way around this? Thanks
I'm running Windows 10 (1607 Ann. Ed.) and have Bootcamp 6.0
How do I find out my volume number?
thank you thank you thank you
Hello, can you tell me how to install the HSF driver? Bootcamp 6 is not compatible with my mac

i have the stock xeon 1,1
i am using windows 10 pro
Hello my mac pro have 32gb too but windows says only 16gb usable what is the issue?
Thanks!!
Thank you very much!!! 🙂
thanks it worked
Hello, great job for the video and thanks a lot for the proper credit. I think I was a bit vague in my instructions regarding "counting volumes".. Windows disk management simply doesn't list its own recovery partitions.. However, for DOS, its still any other NTFS disk; You have to list it in the way the DOS sees it;
Instead of counting them from the list, its just better to count from the partition map shown below. In your example;
Disk0; 200mb = volume1, 930,89GB = volume2, 620MB = volume3 (this one is not listed in "volumes" of windows disk management) "Windows 10 pro" = volume4
Disk1; 200mb = volume5, 930,89GB = volume6, "Win 1TB"= volume7 (unallocated area doesn't regognized by dos, so that wouldn't be count)
Disk2; 200mb = volume8, 92,36GB = volume9, 620mb = volume10
Disk3 200mb = volume11, 465,76GB = volume12, "Win data" = volume 13. (again, unallocated area is not counted)
I assume you want to mount 2nd partitions of all 4 disks, so they are 2,6,9 and 12.
plz find more thing about this it didn't work for me😢😢😢
