Can someone please answer this question, if you move all of your pictures to the MicroSD Card can you still ever access them? Or will they just be gone on the card forever? Thanks.
Doesn't seem to work with RT and windows 10.
very useful!
haha 64gb "we're living in the future!" XD
Which type of i5 processor does the surface pro 3 come with the 2 or 4 core one? How would you know? It doesnt specify ….Also how much micro sd reader storage can the slot drive handle up to? It doesnt specify also…. There are 2tb micro sd cards will the surface pro 3 be able to manage a 2tb card?
We both said 'awesome' at the same time! It was weird! Thank you for all of this. I will be referring back.
I need to get into my surface. I don't use it often and its demanding my previous yahoo password which I don't remember. How do I get into it.????
How to expand 256 GB sd card inbuilt in laptop
2:32.
Well….we have 258 gigs now and 1tb isb
Sean, why you dont use the "compress this drive to save disk space" option in that is in the same screen?
My surface is annoying me. I love the surface but have to stop using it because of storage.
I have had it 1 week. There are no apps on it. No pictures. No videos and 20 songs. Every hour or so my storage drops 2GB.
From 64gb storage i now have 35gb and all i have on it is 20 songs????
I can literally see the storage dropping every hour.
Thats almost half my storage lost?
What shall i do? I have gone into free up disk space and it says i can clear 20MB.
But no where is it tellong me where the other 25GB have dissappeared to?
Please help 🙁
waning is you use your SD card you can not use the reclining bin so you del something it is gone
To format your micro SD card to left click on the SD card in your This PC, click Manage, Click Format, click on File System and choose the NTTP; everything on the SD is written over; say okay; create folders for your Library and One Drive:
How do you put the recovery partition back? My RT updates daily sometimes so I would have to update my USB. How do you do that? Does the recovery partition always stay the same? When I reset my RT it doesn't restart as well with the recovery partition from an updated one.
This video was great, thanks.
lol i get what your saying but bro we had 56 gb micro sd cards 20 years ago
I've tried to move my ONEDRIVE to a SD card on the surface pro and run on window 10. but it said "please choose a folder on a drive that's formatted with the NTFS file system". What should I do?
thanks, nice tips. 🙂
Great vid! Wouldn't have found the SD card slot without this lol HappyNewYear fella!
I've seen 128gb Micro SD'S, its crazy
dude! great video, thanks for explaining the storage capacity and limitation for the surface. thank you.
Sean, hope you could help me in this one..ive watched your videos regarding maximize memory on surface, what i did is that instead of the usb drive i put the recovery on my external hardrive. Now the problem is that all my files that have been saved on the external hard drive were gone..only the recovery files can be seen. Is there a way that i can view or return my old files from my external hard drives? I would really appreciate youre reply. Thanks.
can you do the same thing but with next book flexx 10 and a micro SD storage card
Hi sean, I learn alot from your video with my new surface pro 3. I wonder is it possible to save the apps to the SD card on sp pro3? thanks!
those micro sd cards also come is 128gb, and micro-sd cards have been aroumd since the early 2000's but they only had like 512mb, but with file sizes being lower back then it would have been decent.
I just bought a 128 gig Sd card for my sp3 just for 40 USD, I think it worth the investment in more space!
I already had 128 plus 128 sd card, now I have 250 gigs.
Please make a Windows 10 version
Thanks a lot sir. Always looking for ways to make this slow thing faster :/
I do not see location in one drive properties. I have windows 10 and all I see is: General, Sharing, Security, Previous Versions, and Customize. Help?
would this work for games and mods and things?
How about putting apps on an SD card now that windows 10 is out?
Thanks for these tips. I just bought a Surface 3 today and want to be sure I don't load it all up with pictures and videos. I'm still not really sure what One Drive is. When I clicked on it, it looks like it wants to sync all my files in it but I'd rather use an external device for backing up and saving files. I put all my important files on an external hard drive.
Awesome Tips. I wish I'd looked for this a year ago
Sean, great video with great advice and instructions. I don't understand what is in the One Drive folder. Mine is huge when I check the storage required but there are no files on my C drive. What is in the folder that I can't see?
i had 60GB available before this vid
Sean you made this very understandable, Thank YOU!
Hi Sean, I have a question, it´s my firt time messing with the surface 2 and if I make the USB drive my "recovery" drive, how do I star the recovery, will it ask me for it?
Dont do the recovery drive with a stick/harddisc that has stuff on it i just lost 500 GB of my files and pictures!! Do it with an empty stick!
"Storage"….not "memory"
Memory is RAM. Storage is ssd, hdd, cards.
Huge difference.
How would you know the size of a vhs file? :p
Hello Sean. Is there a way to mount my music from my "music folder" to my 64gb sd card and it load also in my xbox music when I add music to the folder? I have the Surface Pro 3 with windows 8.1 Thanks!
Hi Sean, thanks for the video. I am using Surface RT 8.1. I notice that the email app takes 1.3GB or so of space. Is this just the app space or does it include emails sizes? I am using Gmail. You mention moving apps to the SD card. Can that be done with RT 8.1? Thanks
Wow, thanks for all the helpful advice in your videos.Have you started up a donation site yet? To keep you motivated to make more videos?
Yep so…
After several attempts to do what you suggest I found it to be IMPOSSIBLE!!!!
You CANNOT store your ONEDRIVE & MUSIC on the same Micro SD Card!!!
ONEDRIVE demands an NTFS formatted SD card
Where as
Music will ONLY be recognised on an exFAT or FAT32 formatted cards…
So please check your information when handing out your tips please…
Not everyone is as savvy as myself when it comes to these things and false info such as can cause people much heartache and pain with their new toys..
Thanks man
All the rest of yer tips in this vid seem bloody well good 😉
Aeon
Yeah that is all well and good but all my hard drives are formatted to Fat32 including my SD cards. This system only recognises NTFS. So the result is I can stor music but cant store One Drive and I presume then no other app!
Is there a way around this without reformatting my SD card…?
thank you so much!
Ive heard so many different things about using micro sd cards on the surface rt. I figured, why not get a 128gb card for more space. But then I see people in forums saying you can only use 64gb cards. Does anyone know for sure if the RT has these kind of limitations? Or can I just use aby size card?? Thanks a ton
i read somewhere that the surface rt only reads up to 32gb sd cards…. and the card has to be sdxc instead of sdhc. anybody know about that? I would think a class 10 sdhc should work, and don't see why it wouldn't read a 64gb or 128gb card. does that make any sence?
