2048 GB Limit on HyperV Server install removed. Easy and simple allow big disks to be used on your server.
The 2TB limit is because of the MBR format. GPT is required to allow greater than 2TB but cannot be changed directly when Windows is installed on the same disk.
This can be done when Windows Server is first installed using the DiskPart tool. The DiskPart tool is on the Windows Server install disk and allows you to convert the disk to GPT.
Once the drive is GPT, it can be extended well beyond 2TB.
Here are some caveats. You actually need UEFI if your boot disk is greater-than 2TB because Windows will not allow itself to install on a GPT disk without UEFI and a bios that support UEFI. Windows will automatically convert a disk back to MBR before installing.
If you have a lot more disk space to 2TB, just make sure that your boot disk is separate and much smaller than 2TB. Put all your other space on a separate disk / volume and partition that separately. You can have a less-than 2TB boot disk as MBR and have the second data disk use GPT and far more usable space.

So you still did not resolve the problem, because when you try to create the whole 3TB, it still leaves on 2TB.
First of all make BIOS in UEFI.
Sick of these jokers.
Work while installation but after still limit 2TB and 100+GB of unlocated partition
Thanks! 🍺
Fake, the MBR was created when you click next..
did you have to make any bios changes? I have a proliant dl360 g7 and i cant get this to work. I follow all the steps and when i reboot to install windows 10, the installer will still automatically create a 2tb partition on a larger 3.6TB drive.
Thanks,
Also make sure the bios is in uefi mode, else it will give an (not so common) error at the partition creation aswell after performing these steps.
